Queens are posted out in Queen cages with 7 or 8 attendant bees & Queen Candy
New research has proved that queens live longer if left in mating Nucs for over 3 weeks before caging. (4 weeks preferred). As this affects the economies of queen bee production, our prices have changed to reflect the increased costs of slower turnaround times in mating Nucs.
We Would rather supply fewer high quality Queens than lots of lower quality Queens
That you would normally get from foreign Imports

I bought a Buckfast X queen in spring 2011 to replace one which had died. She settled in well and survived 2011 and 2012 with no issues: lots of brood/honey and very few varroa.. Great natured bees - I keep barehanded and cannot recall ever being stung by any bee from this hive. Beekeeping visitors are amazed by the placidity and docile nature of the bees - no running on combs etc. No swarms in 2012.. she is still alive in 2013 (I hope). Highly recommended: I have bought more and they are similar. No connection except as a very satisfied customer. (For the record I keep TBHs).
