All new beekeepers
The importance of preparing colonies to enter the winter in a healthy state, with an
adequate supply of young healthy bees and stores, cannot be over-emphasised.
The beekeeping year starts here, so a colony overwintered in good condition
ensures that it is fit for purpose in the following spring. Recent winter colony loss
investigations, both in the UK and across Europe, have clearly shown links
between dead colonies and the viruses, particularly deformed wing virus, which
are associated with varroa infestations. This highlights the importance of effective
and timely varroa control. overwinter colonies successfully.
One of the most Important jobs of the year is getting you bees ready for the long winter months
so they have the best chance of getting through the winter and ready to start in spring
On the day we will be covering Varroa treatments ( When, Why & How)
Winter feeding covering the best way to feed your bees so they have the stores they need
Checking That Your Queen Right Pest free Vermin Protection.
We will also cover What to do in spring.
and answer any questions you may have regarding Beekeeping
I will also have a supply of the different Varroa tratments , Feeders , Jars and other equipment.
Light refreshments Included
All In All the day will be Packed with all the information and help you need for the winter ahead.

As part of our Biosecurity Do NOT
bring your beekeeping Gloves
and please wash your bee suit prior to coming
I will issue you with Nitrile Disposable Gloves
( If your suit looks dirty you will not be allowed to wear It)
